JOSEPH L. DICKERSON

Joseph L. Dickerson (fl. Philadelphia, ca. 1808-14) was a singing master. No one by this name appears in the Philadelphia directories in the years when Dickerson's only tunebook was published. From 1805 to 1810 a Joseph Dickinson, weigher, is listed; and from 1809 to 1811 a Joseph Dickinson, accountant, appears. The 1813 directory lists 'Joseph L. Dickinson, music master,' and the 1814 issue 'Joseph L. Dickerson, dealer in real estate.'
