JUSTIN MORGAN
Justin Morgan (b. West Springfield, Mass., 28 Feb. 1747; d. Randolph, Vt., 22 March 1798) was a composer, singing master, schoolteacher, farmer, and breeder of horses. He moved with his family from West Springfield to Randolph in 1788. In 1791 he perhaps taught singing along the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania. Morgan never published a tunebook, nor was he a prolific composer; but several of his nine known published compositions won popularity.
