SUPPLEMENT TO THE COLUMBIAN HARMONIST
ASMI 430
Supplement to the Columbian Harmonist; containing the following pieces of music: [index follows] By J. Read, Attleborough.
24p.12.5x21
[1805] Daniel Read's The Columbian Harmonist, 2d ed. (No. 423), the work for which the Supplement was issued, was published in April 1805. According to Vinson Bushnell, some copies of The Columbian Harmonist went directly from the printer to Joel Read, who is named on the title-page of The Columbian Harmonist as a seller of the work. Joel Read compiled the Supplement, presumably in 1805, and bound it with some of these copies. (See Bushnell 1978, p. 294 & n.) The absence of an imprint in the Supplement indicates that it was printed by Herman Mann, Dedham, who brought out The Columbian Harmonist. p. [1], caption title & index, p. [1]-24, music.
