JOHN ASPLUND

John Asplund (d. 1807) was the author of The Annual Register of the Baptist Denomination (1790ff.).

NOTE: Following Metcalf 1917, Britton 1953 lists Asplund's New Collection (Baltimore, 1793) as an unlocated title, perhaps a tunebook. The lack of any references linking Asplund to psalmody suggests, however, that the New Collection was more likely a hymnal without music. This possibility is strengthened by Julian 1907, p. 108, which reports that Thomas Baldwin's hymn, 'From whence does this union rise?" is 'first found in J. Asplund's New Coll., Baltimore, 1793.
