JAMES TOMLINS
James Tomlins (fl. Norfolk, Va., ca. 1806-10; d. Baltimore, Md., 10 Aug. 1818) was a composer and teacher of music. Tomlins's collection, which identifies him as a Virginia resident, was published in Boston, probably because no Virginia printer owned a font of music type.
