URANIAN INSTRUCTIONS, 1787
The only surviving copies are bound in with No. 457, A Selection of Sacred Harmony (Philadelphia, 1788, q.v.), as the introduction to that work. However, the imprint of the Uranian Instructions shows that it appeared in 1787 as a separate item. A second edition of A Selection of Sacred Harmony (Philadelphia, 1789), No. 458, has as its introduction Lessons explaining the Characters in Music (q.v., No. 361), dated 1788, and thus also obviously an independent issue. The Lessons is listed separately under its own title, although it is virtually identical in content with the Uranian Instructions, being in effect a second issue of the latter.
